Pinxterbloom Farm is nestled in the gently rolling hills of the Pennsylvania Piedmont, a serene and tranquil spot. We are located minutes from Interstate 95 but a century away in atmosphere. The name of the farm is taken from the native azalea which grows naturally on the property, pinxterbloom azalea. The 20 acre farm has approximately 10 acres of beech and oak woodlands, which serves as home to the pinxterbloom azalea, and 10 acres of pasture, which serves as home to our flock of Angora goats. Our farm developed out of my wife’s obsession with textiles and my love of raising animals. After considering many possibilities, we decided to raise Angora goats because of their gentle disposition, ease of care and delightful fiber that is both fine and lustrous. Our goal is to raise strong bodied animals with fine, lustrous, uniform fleeces that have distinctive style and character. We raise these animals for use as breeding stock for other farms, as well as for our own fiber production. Our flock has been tested CAE (Caprine Arthritis Encephalitis) free. You can visit us at Great Lakes Fiber Show (last weekend in May in Wooster, Ohio), Virginia Angora Goat and Mohair Association Show (third weekend in June, Lewisburg, WV), New Jersey Harvest Sheep and Fiber Festival (last weekend in September, Sharptown, NJ), New York State Sheep and Wool Festival (third weekend in October, Rhinebeck, NY) and we hope to add Southeastern Animal Fiber Fair (last weekend in October, Asheville, NC). We would also encourage you to visit and enjoy the setting and animals. We are always excited to share our experiences and talk about our animals. Please contact us to make arrangements for a visit.
